Jan 31, 2020

UAZ exports have grown by 29% in 2019. Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has achieved the biggest growth in countries outside the CIS region, where exports rose by 73%, as reported by the company press office. The growth is explained by the expansion of the geography of sales and the model range in the existing markets.

UAZ automobile supplies have almost doubled in the Asian region. The company has stabilised supplies to Laos and significantly increased exports to Mongolia. Deliveries of Patriot and Pickup models for tourist rental agencies and Profi light commercial trucks have officially started to the country, alongside the traditional exports of UAZ: Bukhanka and Hunter. In addition, Profi has successfully made a debut at the dealer centres of Myanmar.

UAZ exports have risen by 67% in the EU countries. Bukhanka has become a bestseller in the region with its various versions, which continues gaining popularity amongst the enthusiasts of European tourism and camping. The period was also marked by the opening of new export markets, namely Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Estonia.

Exports volumes have quadrupled in the Middle-East within the aforementioned period. As previously, the new models of Patriot, Pickup and Profi were exclusively in high demand in the region, which have an edge over the similar products of rival companies, with their characteristics and equipment. The list of export destinations of UAZ is completed by Iraq in 2019.

UAZ exports to South America and Cuba have also grown by 37%. The certification process has been completed in Latin America and the UAZ Hunter SUV has been launched in Chile. In addition, the cooperation with the Liberty Island (Cuba) has reached a new level. The Ulyanovsk plant has begun the development of a new project for vehicle assembly within the territory of the republic.

A 20% rise have been observed in exports to the long-established and therefore more stable markets of the CIS and the neighbouring countries. As traditionally, Belarus and Kazakhstan were the main export destinations of UAZ. The assembly production of UAZ vehicles have been launched in Kazakhstan last year.
