Experts have found that Russians are buying more cars at the age of 8-9 years. During the reporting period, the volume of purchases of such cars reached 493 thousand units, which is higher by 11% than in January-August of the previous year. This is largely due to the fact that in 2012 - 2013 the market of new cars in the Russian Federation was at its peak, so more cars purchased during that period began to appear in the secondary market.
The volume of purchases of cars under the age of 3, inclusively, also increased by 3% to 294 thousand units. In other age categories, the market is falling. Thus, the purchase of cars aged 4-5 years fell by 18% (to 279 thousand units), and the purchase of cars aged 6 and 7 years - by 22% (to 399 thousand units). In the segment of cars at age 10 years and older, the market fell by 5% (to 1.83 million units).
