The market of used electric vehicles more than doubled in September

In September, the Russian market of new electric cars quadrupled, but in the secondary market this month the situation with purchases was developing quite actively. So, according to the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, in the first autumn month, the residents of our country bought 663 electric used vehicles, which is 2.1 times higher than in September of 2019.


The lion's share of preferences (almost 93%) here fell on Nissan Leaf model, the resale of which reached 614 units. In addition, in September, the Russians purchased 15 used Mitsubishi i-MiEV electric cars, 13 – Tesla Model S, 7 - BMW i3 and Tesla Model X, 3 – Hyundai Ioniq and 2 - Jaguar I-Pace and LADA Ellada.

Most of all used electric vehicles in September were bought by residents of the Irkutsk region (85 units). The second place in the regional rating is taken by Primorye (60 items), and the top three is finished by the Khabarovsk Territory (36 items). Among the subjects of the Russian Federation, where electric vehicles were actively resold, it is worth highlighting Krasnodar territory (32 units), Novosibirsk region (27 units), Moscow region (27 units), Amur region (25 units) and Krasnoyarsk territory (24 units). Moscow is only the ninth in this rating, 20 used electric cars were purchased there. At the end of 9 months of 2020, the secondary market of electric vehicles in Russia also showed the significant growth. So, during this period, its volume was 3,770 units, which is higher by 58% than in January - September of the last year.
