Havel Motor Rus and Tula Design Institute have signed an agreement on 10 March, proposing the design of a new engine factory, in order to ensure uninterrupted supply of key parts and components to the Russian plant of the brand.
As part of implementation of a globalisation strategy, Great Wall Motors aims to achieve deep localisation in production in Russia. Therefore, the design of the factory is carried out by the Russian Design Institute. Upon the completion of the project, the plant will be able to manufacture and assemble engines, which will equip more than 90% of Russian production Haval crossovers and SUVs. The new plant will create over 300 jobs for people living in Tula region.
Thanks to the establishment of the new plant, Haval will be able to increase the localisation rate in the production of intelligent crossovers for the Russian market in the future. The enterprise will have an annual production capacity of 80,000 vehicles.
The production complex will be located on a 10,000 m2 site at Uzlovaya Industrial Park in Tula region. Advanced technological equipment will be installed in the complex, taking into account modern engineering solutions in the field of environmental protection and energy conservation, in accordance with the concept of lean manufacturing.
The new Haval plant will create more than 300 jobs in the region, improving trust and loyalty towards the brand at the same time.
