Aug 13, 2020

If the market of new electric vehicles in Russia is falling, then the secondary market is growing.

The experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" found out that in the 1st half of 2020, the residents of our country bought 1,949 used electric cars. And this figure is higher by 40% than for 6 months of 2019 (1,395 units).

At the same time, according to experts, in June the growth of the secondary market of electric vehicles was even more impressive (+ 82%), and its volume reached 480 units per a month. Apparently, this is due to the zeroing of customs duties on the import of electric vehicles within the Eurasian Economic Union, which entered into force on May 4th. 94% of the market of used electric cars in the Russian Federation is belonged to Nissan Leaf - in the first half of the year, Russians bought 1,832 units of this model. The resale volumes of electric vehicles of other brands look much more modest: Tesla (35 units), Mitsubishi (29 units), Jaguar (18 units), BMW (13 units), LADA (10 units), Renault (7 units), Hyundai (5 units).

Most of all used electric cars are bought by residents of Irkutsk region - 226 units for six months. The second place in the regional rating is occupied by Primorye (210 items), and the third place is closed by the Krasnodar Territory (125 items). In addition to them, Khabarovsk Territory and Novosibirsk region (119 and 107 units, respectively) exceeded the mark of one hundred resold electric vehicles in January-June. And then Moscow (78 units) and Moscow region (71 units) follow that were outside the TOP-5.
