Mar 24, 2021

Experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" have calculated that in February of 2021, the residents of Russia bought 75 new electric vehicles. This is 5 times higher than in February 2020 (15 units).

According to the agency's experts, the electric vehicle segment owes much of its significant growth to two new models - Porsche Taycan, which entered the Russian market in January 2021, and Audi e-tron, which was launched in July 2020.

Over 70% of the market belonged to these cars. The sports electric car Porsche Taycan in the previous winter month was sold in the amount of 32 units. Thus, Audi e-tron electric crossover yielded first place to the novelty: it was purchased in the amount of 21 units. Tesla Model 3 (12 items) is the third one in the model rating. In addition to them, Russians bought 4 Nissan Leaf electric vehicles in February, 3 – Tesla Model X, 2 - JAC iEV7S and 1 - Mercedes-Benz EQC. The experts also noted that in general, since the beginning of the year, 189 new electric cars have been purchased in our country, which is 5.6 times higher than in January-February of 2020 (34 units).
