So, from January to March this year, 99.4 thousand new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles of domestic brands were sold in Russia. This is higher by 1.4% than in the same period in 2020. According to the agency's experts, their share was 25.7% of the Russian market. At the same time, a year ago this indicator was lower - 24.6%. In turn, sales of new foreign cars (passenger cars and LCVs) for the 1st quarter were 287.9 thousand units, by showing a decline of 4.2%.
As a result, their share decreased for the year from 75.4% to 74.3%. Recall that the whole Russian market in January - March 2021, according to the AEB, showed a decline by 2.8% to 387.3 thousand units.
