64% of the Russian car fleet includes foreign cars

The experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" have calculated that as of July 1st, 2020, 28.6 million foreign cars were registered in Russia. This is 64% of the country's total vehicle fleet. In its turn, the share of domestic brands is 36%, or 16 million units.

The most common among foreign cars are Japanese - they have 23% of the total number of passenger cars in the Russian Federation, which is equivalent to 10.3 million units. Almost twice less of Korean cars are listed - 5.4 million units (share - 12.2%). Representatives of Germany are slightly inferior to them (4.7 million units; 10.4%).

In addition to them, Russians have 3.3 million cars of American brands (share - 7.4%) and 2.5 million - French (5.6%). It is also worth noting passenger cars representing the Czech Republic (928 thousand units; share - 2.1%) and China (644 thousand units; 1.4%). For cars from other countries, this figure is less than 300 thousand units, and their share does not even reach 1%.
