Avtotor has revealed its production plan for 2020

Jan 9, 2020

Kaliningrad car plant Avtotor plans to maintain the production volume of 2019 in 2020. The relevant statement has been made to Autostat by the press office of the company, noting that the estimated figures may be adjusted depending on the market situation.

The company plans to launch the production of new and updated models in future, which will be announced in due course. Approximately 30% of the model range of Avtotor is updated on an annual basis.

Avtotor currently operates at a regular mode. The enterprise will not take a winter break. Activities as part of the scheduled preventive maintenance of equipment will be carried out at the production site in normal mode, during the official New Year holidays between 1-8 January. Dealers will be supplied with the previously confirmed orders within the aforementioned period, as stated by the press office of Avtotor.

As one may remember, a new body welding line with an annual capacity of 30,000 vehicles has been established at Avotor plant previously, as part of the terms of the SPIC. Over €20 million have been established in the installation of the new welding line in the factory. The total capacity of the welding complex is 100,000 bodies per year. Three welding lines will operate in the facility for the bodies of KIA automobiles, alongside a line for the cabins of Hyundai HD-series commercial vehicles.

Works have started for the construction of a new factory with a 50,000 bodies annual capacity welding complex for further improvement of full-cycle car production, under the terms of the ten-year SPIC signed between Avtotor, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the regional government of Kaliningrad in June 2019.
